One of my favorite days of the year is coming up this Sunday! I love Easter! I feel like all of my posts lately have been so heavy, it is slightly refreshing to not dig deep and just do a shallow post…to not cry while I type! Friday’s seem to be the perfect day for those. A kick off to the happiness of the weekend!
I will be honest, growing up, Easter was all about the candy. I would wake up to an Easter basket filled with sugar. Believe me, I loved it, but as a mom, I kind of hate candy only baskets. So, I started filling my kids baskets a few years ago with a sort of summer toy or busy toy. I do still get them some candy, because I want some candy for myself, but the real fun is more than that. Today I am doing my Friday Faves Easter edition. Hopefully we can bounce some ideas off of each other! Here are the things I am putting in my kids baskets this year!
In the babies baskets I am putting garden tools. I have always had a secret love for gardening and if I can get my kids to join me…win-win! I bought these garden tools on Zulily. If you don’t know about Zulily, it will blow your mind!
So then for my older kids, I like to get them busy and vintage toys. I have been seeing these finger spinners everywhere and I figured Bo might like it.
For the boys I got them these classic wooden pop guns. Fairly certain I might regret this one because it will annoy me, but oh well!
Mia is really into art and she has never gotten anything like this. It is a solar art kit. It will teach her science and art!
For the family I got the game Bean Boozled. Granted, it is candy, but this game is our favorite! So funny!!
I mentioned that I love gardening so I got each of the older kids a little seedling kit. I figure it is educational and they will be able to see the results of their hard work!
And last but not least, for Hayes we got this rock pet. I figure the kids can decorate it together and then we can drop it off on his grave! As long as we incorporate him I feel happy!
What are some fun Easter things you are doing to set your kids Easter baskets apart?
